In the realm of streaming HDMI sticks the ease of use and application integration the Google Chromecast enjoys is as-of-yet unparalleled. Still weird that it's only affecting this device and not the rest of my network.Note: Although we've focused on the Chromecast due to its popularity and the number of reader requests for assistance we receive based on that popularity, most of the following tips and tricks can be applied to just about every streaming HDMI stick including the Amazon Fire TV Stick and the Roku, as they address quite a few issues that apply to the entire hardware category. The same when I am direct playing a movie averaging 89 Mbps: output speeds from my server is ~60 Mbps. Is there a reason why I'd have no issue with one device, and buffering on the other?įor example, when direct playing a movie that averages 67.6 Mbps on my Chromecast, after output of my server is ~60 Mbps and it buffers constantly. From what I understand, this is the same client (v8.3). I'm able to get 90+ Mbps streaming with direct play. It only seems to be happening for my Chromecast. The interesting bit: I have no issue streaming the same exact high bitrate movies to my Android Plex client on my Pixel 3.
